I was invited recently by Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan School of Education to conduct a Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) seminar-forum to their Early Childhood Education students as part of their MTB subject.

I went there last February 26, 2020, and I just basically shared my experiences being able to teach the MTB subject for years as a Grade 1 teacher, as well as being able to use the mother tongue as a medium of communication in teaching.

I also talked about the importance of pedagogy in using and choosing learning materials, a little bit of ICT integration because I have been using a lot of ICT tools to contextualize my lessons especially in creating materials in our mother tongue, and some of the helpful websites where we can get free learning resources for teaching.
